Professor Ben Wadham Phd, BA (Hons), Grad Dip Public Policy – ‘Warrior, Soldier, Brigand: Can we have an ethical militarism?’

Ben Wadham is a Professor of Defence and Veteran Studies at Flinders University.  Ben is also Director of Open Door: Understanding and Supporting Service Personnel and their Families.  Ben served in the Australian Regular Army for five years as an infantry soldier and military policy corporal, leaving in 1992.  Ben has led large national research grants on institutional abuse in the Australian Defence Force and Veteran Suicide. Ben established the Military Academic Pathway Program for veterans undertaking university studies after their service.  He is widely published on academic journals and the news media.  Ben provided expert testimony in the Royal Commission. Into Defence and Veteran Suicide.  Ben remains dedicated to veteran and family health as the Vice President of the Defence Welfare Association in South Australia.
