Ashton Hurn MP

Ashton Hurn MP is the Leader of the opposition in South Australia and the Member for Schubert.

A proud Barossa local, Ashton was born, raised and educated in the region before studying Social Science at the University of Adelaide. Her upbringing on the family farm and lifelong involvement in sport and community life have shaped her commitment to South Australia. Elected to State Parliament in 2022 Ashton was unanimously chosen as Leader of the Liberals in 2025.She leads a Liberal Team with a clear focus on making our state more affordable for families and businesses, delivering a better health system for patients and staff and safer, stronger communities.

Outside Parliament, Ashton lives in Angaston with her husband Adam and their toddler son Rupert, and enjoys staying active outdoors.
